RF Online Hits GameFrog

Level Up Games, the pioneer in bringing wildly popular MMORPG's into the country has brought another new game to our hungry shores--Rising Force Online. RF Online is currently in closed beta, and GameFrog is an official beta-test center.

Moonrise Film Festival!!

There's going to be an environmental film festival / film awards featuring some of the best locally-made documentaries about our ailing Philippine environment! This looks like a cool gig, guys, so we hope to see you there!

]]> As you know, many of the guys and gals at GameFrog have a serious side, and some of us are really concerned about our environment! So we're really looking forward to this film-fest! It's about time that we have our own National Geographic-quality documentaries about the dwindling store of natural beauty and resources in the country!

The Moonrise Filmfest will be accepting environmental documentaries as entries to vie for the Charlie--the first environmental film award in the country. Film-makers can submit their entries until May 31, 2005. Check on their website at www.moonrisefilmfest.org for more info about suggested themes and categories.

And for the rest of us who don't make movies, let's get together and see these films and learn more about our own Philippine environment. The dates of the actual filmfest are yet to be announced so stay tuned here, or at the Moonrise website for more information!

Matrix Online Goes Beta!

In case you haven't heard, the MMORPG set in the universe of the blockbuster Matrix movie franchise has gone into initial beta testing this month!

]]> Truth be told, a lot of people are eagerly awaiting this game. It fills a nice niche for those who are not into the fantasy genre (an arena currently dominated by Blizzard's award-winning World of Warcraft), and would rather play as a free operative in the cybertech setting of The Matrix.

From the screenshots that they've been releasing, the environment is pretty impressive and straight out of the movies.

The game is being developed by Monolith Productions, the same studio that is responsible for the likewise anticipated F.E.A.R. FPS game. The game will be published by Warner Brothers and Sega.

Matrix Online is scheduled for release later this year! And don't worry, you'll probably get a taste of it first, here at GameFrog.

My friendly neighborhood game-pusher just called and told me my Aussie WoW has arrived. WAHOOOOOO!! I'll be picking it up tonight, and installing it tomorrow. You guys know what that means! It means you're going to see a preview of World of Warcraft during FrogStomp!!!!

We are proud to unveil a new and improved GameFrog website! This new site was designed with you guys in mind. There's more information focusing about what binds us all together--the games! The new site delivers more information, and looks really cool while doing it!

]]> Like everything in GameFrog, the site is a constant work in prograss as we continue to improve everything. In the coming weeks and months we'll be launching new interactive sections of the site that will allow you--our members--to really cultivate the gamer in you!

Before you start sifting through the site, be warned. A few sections are still under construction, and most of the games don't even have pages built yet... but the guys and I are chugging along! Give us a day or two!

FrogStomp II is around the corner!!

Yup heard that right! It's stomping time again, and this time it's even bigger and better. We'll be launching GameFrog Cafe during this party so obviously we'll be having REAL FOOD this time, and lots of it!

]]> In true gamer fashion, we'll have a ton of little contests and tournaments with fun door prizes along with the honor of being crowned champion.

GameFrog Expands!

Due to the overwhelming demand for safe and fun gaming, GameFrog management has decided to increase its capacity to 40 rental machines a full month ahead of schedule! That means less waiting time for you, our valued customers.

]]> The machines will have roughly the same specifications as our existing machines. What will be more interesting is the games we'll be placing on these machines. Along with our hardware order we've also ordered additional licenses of Half Life 2 and Counterstrike: Source!

Although the machines are already there (I'm sure you've seen them), it'll take us a week to configure everything to specification. But you'll get the chance to play them first during FROGSTOMP II!!

New Games: A3 and Ragnarok URDR Patch

We just installed the new URDR Player-Kill server patch for Philippine Ragnarok Online. Play in the most challenging RO server yet. Definitely not for first-time RO players, URDR lets you PVP everyone who is level 51 and above.

We've also got a new full 3D MMORPG called A3. Watch out for a review of this game in the days to come!
